New CCU Library Web Site Directory
The CCU Library has begun to compile lists of websites that may be helpful in meeting the research and information needs of students. The following lists are now available: Biblical Studies, Biblical Languages, Biblical Backgrounds, Old Testament Resources, Restoration Movement Resources, Theology Resources, and Ready Reference Resources (including links to directory sites, statistics sites, and sites that provide free-full text access to large libraries of books. New OhioLINK Renewal Policy
Users of the OhioLINK book borrowing service will be happy to know that OhioLINK has changed their renwal policy. When you check out a book via OhioLINK, you can now renew the book up to 4 times. Previously, patrons could only renew their OhioLINK books 1 time. Each renewal period is 3 weeks from the date of renewal. However, plan your research and information needs carefully. If a hold is placed on the book by another OhioLINK patron, you will not able to renew the book under any circumstances, even if it is only your first renewal. Despite the increased number of renewals, it is prudent to conduct your research from OhioLINK books as quickly and efficiently as possible.

New Database: Learning Express Library
CCU students, faculty and staff now have access to a new database called Learning Express Library. The database provides access to several practice tests and interactive online courses. Examples of practice tests include: the GRE, the TOEFL Exam, and PRAXIS I. Also available are instructive courses on improving writing skills, resume and interviewing success skills, and career courses. For more information, as well as a link to the database, click here.

Book Sale

Many new books have been added to the CCU library’s Fall Book Sale. The books are located on a set of shelves just outside the entrance to the AV Room. Prices are marked inside the front cover of each book. Please pay for your purchases at the circulation desk.

Wireless Internet in CCU Library and Crouch Building

Since the spring, CCU has been providing a wireless internet signal in the main library. During the summer, additional wireless signals were installed in the first floor of the Crouch Building. Now, students with laptops and wireless network cards should be able to pick up the signal almost anywhere in the library, as well as several spots on the first floor of the building. If you have any questions or concerns about accessing the wireless internet in the Crouch Building, please contact the IT helpdesk (extension 8647 orhelpdesk@ccuniversity.edu).

Renewing Your Books Online
Did you know that you can renew your books online through the CCU library catalog site? To renew your books, first go to this page: http://scrolls.ccuniversity.edu/patroninfo. Type in your name and library barcode number (located on the back of your student ID card). Once your patron record (or your library account) appears on screen, look for a link that says “__ Items Currently Checked Out.” (When you bring up your patron record, there will be a number in the place of the blank. That number will be the total number of items currently checked out to your record.). Click on the link and then click in the box to the left of each item in the list that you wish to renew and click the button that says, “Renew Selected Items.” Or, simply click on the button that says “Renew All” if you wish to renew all your items at once.
