Circulation Policies

  • Students and employees of CCU may check out circulating library materials using their CCU ID card. All patrons of the library must present their ID card when checking out library materials.
  • The CCU Library allows alumni and members of the public to check out some materials from its collection. Visitors to the library may request a library card at the service desk. Guests wishing to register for a library card must be able to present valid ID, such as a driver's license or state-issued ID card.
  • CCU Library is a member of OhioLINK, and as a member it extends borrowing privileges to any guest who is a current student or employee of any OhioLINK member institution. Those OhioLINK guests wishing to check out library materials should be prepared to present their college/university ID card.
  • Books in the circulation collection can be checked out for a three-week period. Audio and visual materials can be checked out for one week. Extended check out periods may be arranged in consultation with a full-time library staff person.
  • Library materials placed on reserve by professors have more limited check-out periods. Reserve materials may be checked out at the library service desk.
  • Undergraduate students may check out a maximum of 20 items at one time. Graduate students may check out a maximum of 25 items. Student who need to check out additional items may consult a library staff member for permission.
  • Books may be renewed once for undergraduate students, and twice for graduate students. Library staff permission is needed for additional renewals. Patrons may renew their books by phone (513-244-8680) or online by logging into their library account. Log in to your library account here.
  • The library charges a fine of 25 cents per book, per day for overdue library items. If the items are not returned within four weeks of the due date, the patron will be charged a replacement fee for each item. If the items are subsequently returned, some adjustment to the patron’s bill may be made at the discretion of the library director. All fines and bills should be paid at the library service desk.
  • Patrons with overdue items on their account must return or renew their items before they can check out any additional library materials.
  • Students who owe the library $30.00 or more will have their student account blocked.  The block will not be released until problems with their library account are resolved.
  • All library patrons are responsible for all items checked out on their library account. A student should not allow any other person to check out materials using his/her library card.
